William Richeson was a surgeon for the 73 and later became the Surgeon General for the State of Minnesota. He was born June 21, 1935 in Wayne Co OH. He went to school in Fredricksburgh OH and taught there three years.

He then studied medicine with a Dr. T. H. Baker of Wooster, OH and was graduated from the
Medical college of Ohio. In the spring of 1863 he entered the army as a surgeon. He served for two years.


After the war he moved to St Paul MN and married and had three children. His wife was the daughter of another officer of the Civil War Col. Wm Given of the 102nd.
